Solutions to a recent failed test

Recently had another test failure.  The gentleman didn't want a picture taken of the property, so I will have to describe it for you.

In a previous post we discussed how the traditional floorboards were used in this property.  It left behind massive leaks between the boards and we were struggling for a cost effective solution t getting them a pass.  The client opted for putting 1/8" plywood over the floorboards and then siliconing them together to complete the seal.  I must say, although not very sightly, the technique worked a treat. They went from a 16 to a 6 by completing this.

To prove the point, no action was taken by the client in the kitchen, as they had put the laminate in already and felt it would be sufficient.  When we did the test, the laminate came up for them anyway :) it was about 12 inches off the floor during the test. Needless to say, they are going to fix that as the rest of the house is in a far better shape.

For more information or to book a test, call me on 01484 686649 or visit my website on

I hope this helps,

Matt
